Lisa and Neil wedding album
How was the wedding:
The whole day was amazing! If we could do it all again, we would & I don't think I would change a thing.I was quite nervous about crying through our vows but woke up just feeling really excited, not really nervous at all. Hair was brilliant, even better than the trial. When I was waiting outside the ceremony room with my Dad and the entrance music started, my heart skipped a beat (and hopefully will every time I hear the song again - Elbow - One day Like This). I was a bit teary walking down the aisle but when I saw Neil's massive grin waiting for me I relaxed a bit. The service was lovely, a lot of people commented on the nice readings that we chose. The 'Order of the Day' that I designed and printed also seemed to go down well.
Thankfully after a week of almost constant rain, the weather was perfect. I even worried about getting sunburnt when we were having the photos taken!
My flowers were perfect (although unfortunately a few of the sunflowers did droop). I had sunflowers, ivory germini, hypercum berries, thistles and sprigs of willow - quite unusual but everyone said that sunflowers made it feel like such a cheerful day, just what we wanted.
The meal was fab. The only thing that was wrong was people got a glass of wine with the meal, then the hotel thought we'd not provided any more wine (there were 30 bottles waiting in the wings!), so there was a bit of a wine shortage until we asked about it.
The evening reception was so much fun. I danced the night away with everyone! We had a photobooth and if anyone is thinking about it, I would definitely say go for it. We had queues of people waiting to use it, the guest book, copies of photos and video that we have are a great reminder of what fun everyone had. We had a three tier cake from Marks & Spencers. It was lovely although it was a bit of a surprise to collect it two days before the wedding, to find it needed dowels etc (presume it must be in the small print). Thankfully someone I work with was decorating it for me & she used to own a cake shop so it was no sweat for her to sort it.
Leading up to the day we couldn't believe how much we were spending on one day (haven't done the final total yet but about £10,000 not including the honeymoon) but I can honestly say if we could do it all again, we would.
