I have managed to mock up a version of our invitations tonight!! So pleased with them as I am not that arty or crafty at all....however, I have had a bit of trouble with my glue as it seems to be making the card have a rippled effect as if it is too wet? All in all, not a very neat finish. So I was wondering whether anyone has come accross any magical adhesive that might be like double sided tape? To make the gluing of the paper bits look more professional? I think I'll stick to my glue to put the embellishments and ribbon on but for the paper I think I'm going to need something else...any handy tips much appreciated!

@sam2710 pritt stick is what i've been using for my inserts and it's great as it's a 'dry' glue so you don't get the ripple effect on the card but it gets a good grip on the paper so i know they're not going to fall out

@sam2710 I had problems with all glue I tried (somehow I managed to make the pritt stick lumpy lol) so I actually used double sided sticky tape, it's perfect, no ripples and the inserts don't fall out like they originally did when I used spray glue... lol. Very time consuming but worth it x

@tinks1985 @joski28 Thanks! I think I will try both! I was thinking double sided sticky tape but didn't know whether it would look right...but I guess you can't see it so definately worth the extra time! Much better than looking like you've soaked your invitation and dried them out again before sending out! Prit stick is a genius idea! Thanks again ladies and wish me luck replicating these invitations over and over again! xxx

@sam2710 I used sticky dots for mine, they come in sheets of 4 I think, the sheets are about A6 size and have 1mm glue dots on them, covering the whole sheet. You put the ribbon etc. on the sheet and it picks up the glue from the sheet. It's very strong and holds odd-shaped things like ribbons perfectly in place. I only used glue where the knot is in the ribbon and it held everything perfectly in place.

I used glue dots too, mine are 6mm. They are great as they are really strong with no sticky mess. I got about 300 for £2.50 on ebay emoticon xx
