Anniversary with fiance - where to go and stay in Newcastle

Hi,

I am wanting to find a cheap bed and breakfast in either Newcastle or Gateshead that is below £40 for one night in August. I don;t normally stay in B&b's in Newcastle with having family there.

Also

Wanting to know cheap and reasonably priced drinking spots in Newcastle I don't want the young fighting end though.

Reason why I ask this is I haven't had a night out in Newcastle since 3rd December 2009 (my 23rd birthday, I am now nearly 24.5) and husnad to be has promised me a night out in Newcastle in August to celebrate our 3rd anniversary of getting together as we aren't celebrating this when we get married, as you can tell I am rather excited. As I am not working I can only pay for cheap accomodation.

Morning @11thnovemberbride are you going on a weekend? Just cos obviously different places do different offers on different days! lol.
If your going friday night then Tiger Tiger up at the gate do half price drinks 5-9pm and it really is half price and on all drinks, so thats a good place to start. Then if you go into the Gate (not sure if that was there 2009-think it was) theres a Lloyds bar, Players, and back outside is Sam Jacks...all good for a dance and relitively cheap!
As for B&B your probs best just seeing if you can get a travelodge/premier in as i personally dont know any B&Bs near/in town. Even the Thistle hotel opposite central station sometimes have good offers on.

@11thnovemberbride as @alicecraig says try travelodge or premier inn's as you can sometimes get rooms for £29, my sis and brother in law do that when they come down to visit me mum n dad, funnily enough they're actually from newcastle xx
