Hi everyone, I got engaged last Monday (13th June) and already we have decided on a Caribbean Cruise wedding. We're 27 & 28 years old but have been on 2 cruises around the Med before so really want to do this. We have already chosen the ship and its itinerary and been into Thomas Cook for quotes on different cabins. We have a pretty good idea of what wedding package and additional bits we want so all thats left is to book it.
Just wondered whether anyone on here had considered a cruise wedding, or been on one previously?? xxx

nextmrstaylor@gina130284 never been on a cruise, I've never even really heard of them doing weddings, sounds like it will be absolutly brill to do though, do you know if you'll have any kind of exclusivety pn the cruise and if you dont mind me cheeky, how much roughly are you paying for it xx

laraandsteve@gina130284 Hi, I LOVE cruising. You're talking to the expert!! (well, done 9 if that counts as an expert?!) I've not been on a cruise wedding though. I would have loved to get married like that but Steve wants the big white wedding in England. Honestly, I could take it or leave it! Anyway, back to the point... I've always had a look at the chapel and rooms used on the ships and they're always stunning. Who are you cruising with and which ship? I think after you get to have dinner with the Captain and will get even more spoilt. If you've cruisied before, you know that the food will be amazing, the service exceptional and the over all experience fantastic!
Which Islands are you going to? We've booked a cruise for our honeymoon and I'm more excited about that than the wedding day! xx
ps: congrats on your engagement!

congratulations!! ive seen a few weddings whilst we've been cruising (23 cruises done now!) and my friend is getting married on Ventura in August. I met my OH on Oceana back in 2004 but we have such huge families, we just couldn't do it at sea. a lot of the ships now have florists and the flowers that we've seen at the weddings are amazing, i remember finding the chapel onboard one ship and getting all emotional just looking at it!! xxx

laraandsteve@mizza1987 Haha, fair enough. I started 10 years ago but not done it every year (moving out meant no more paid for family hols, lol) Really sweet that H2B was on a cruise! Is that what you're doing for your honeymoon? Preferred liner and ship...? x

Aww thanks ladies, great feedback. We're going on Royal Caribbean sailing from Baltimore, calling at Haiti, Puerto Rico, St Thomas, St Maarten, Antigua, British Virgin Islands, then back to Baltimore. Its 12 nights in total.
Looking at getting married whilst docked in St Thomas; 2 reasons 1) its cheaper and 2) more straight forward. Some ports require you to visit there a few days before which is almost impossible when youre on a cruise haha, and some require a blood test too...strange!!
Some of the other cruise lines require you to be so far away from shore where as this requires you to actually be docked.
If Im honest the photos dont 'float my boat' (excuse the pun) and so hoping to pay extra and do it on deck somewhere if possible. But the likes of the cake and flowers etc look amazing. The actual cruise in a balcony cabin is costing us £3200 with flights, and the wedding package we've chosen is £2500.
We've been on 2 cruises before but only the Ocean Village ships. Great for us as first timers, but this is definitely a fabulous step up!!
