“A wedding photography booking has just been confirmed - woohoo!! Thanks to the lovely Sally-Ann and Martin. We can't wait to be involved in your big day!”
(5 months ago)

 My friend is getting married on Saturday - all very last minute and heartbreaking. Her son is in a hospice and so she wants to get married to his father so that he can be a part of it. So, it's all hands on deck to pull it off and give them all a really memorable day. I've been give the task of wedding favours for 60 guests. This near to Christmas, can't really order anything online. Does anyone have any suggestions please. Thank you so much.

 That's so sad. Sorry to hear that. What about a trip to Ikea for some mini jars, and fill them with sweets and tags ? xx

 love @gina130284 idea
but if you want to do favors...a bauble9 a bit xmasy? or a 10p mix bag of sweets. you could also try the local boots/debenhams house of fraser and blag samples tell them what is happening and why you are in a panic and see if they can help.

 Have you thought about contacting the local radio station as well? There was a similar story in Liverpool a year or so ago now, where a couple had 3 children together and she had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and had been given months left to live. The family contacted Radio City Liverpool and they did an appeal to see if people could help in some way - well the family were inundated with companies wanting to help. The Hard Days Night hotel (Beatles hotel) offered them the room for the ceremony and other room for the reception. A bridal shop told her to go in and she got her dress for free, florists called in and offered to do her flowers for free, etc, etc. It really was overwhelming as a listener, so god only knows what it was like for the family. Id recommend calling them if the family agree - see what comes of it. Tis the season of good will afterall x x x x x

 @jonbradley01 I think the idea of a charity donation to the hospice is a lovely one. You could maybe print little cards explaining the donation for people to have as a keepsake? Alternatively, hobbycraft have a bridal section where you can buy mini favour tins, jars, little buckets etc. They also have a good selection of sugared almonds and chocolate hearts in foil to put in the boxes. Another idea is that I have seen in some shops, like Next and Debenhams, they are doing the large jars of old school penny sweets. I think they are £8-10 a jar. I know some ladies doing sweetie buffets on here have bought some little paper bags (again you can get these in hobbycraft) decorated them with stickers and stamps and then filled them with the penny sweets and given them as favours. Also, if you have a cash and carry near you, you might be able to get the sweets cheaper.

I hope this has helped a little bit and if you need anymore help with anything just let me know xx

 @jonbradley01

I think this is an incredibly moving story, your simplest thing i think s the scratch cards/ lottery ticket, but to be more personal i think the donation would be great, the hospice will probably have a charity range of cards you could print outa little note and pop it in the card....................good luck

p.s. where are you??

gemma xx

 @jonbradley01 i also think that hospices tend to do charity badges.... i think ours were sunflowers this year and for xmas they sell ones with bows and bells for a pound each...that way a donation and a gift ?

 @jonbradley01 we are purchasing lottery tickets from the hospice that looked after H2B's mum when she died there as all donations go to them. Maybe this hospice dies a similar thing?? xx Or maybe find out a favourite toy or flower, or something significant that the son likes and use this??? x
