  • Wedding will be on 16 June 2012

I am hoping to lose weight before my wedding, I just joined a boxercise class this week which I will be going to once a week for an hour, then I'm doing 30 mins on the wii every night after work and trying to cut out all the crap I'm usually addicted to. I got measured up 2 weeks ago and my dress will be in the shop in february, they have said they can take it in by up to 2 dress sizes, I'm hoping that when it comes in I will have dropped by 1 dress size emoticon

Im currently 8st 11lbs so definitely wont be losing weight for the wedding, but will be keeping in shape by attending fitness classes. May I ask how tall you are? In my opinion you dont weigh alot so to try and lose 11lbs seems alot to me (as I say thats just my opinion but I do work in exercise and weight management so I deal with this daily).
Also, haveyou considered how you will achieve this and when is your wedding?

Girls.....I followed weight watchers and lost 3st 10ozs in 9 months after the birth of my second girly so i would defo reccomend trying that as its really easy to follow i found. My dress had to be altered loads which was an excellent feeling.....Im currently 9st 13ozs (on a good day) so you all weigh less than me so will look lovely in all your dresses!!! Good luck to you all. emoticon x x x

I am 5ft 5 this is my dilema - should I a) just tone up and eat properly (which I more or less do now -eating that is) or b) concentrate on loosing weight and stay with the amount of fitness that I do (which isnt an awful lot) - I just dont no what to do ...

Basically I want to firm up and loose weight and maybe not 8 and half stone but do want to be in the 8 margin -

Thanks for your input ladies its really appreciated and also I was thinking of the WW as a friend of mine has lost loads and looks damn good and really toned .. perhaps I need to pick her brains.. cheers huns emoticon emoticon

@mrsd2012 The problem you have is mentioning weight loss and toning together as possible goals which isnt entirely possible to achieve as you only get one response at a time from your body (ie lose weight or build muscle). Im sure you've heard that muscle weighs more than fat which is true. As you tone up you build muscle and therefore you may end up weighing slightly heavier... however not much!! But what it means is your body fat percentage would be lower which is a good thing.

In my opinion I think eating healthier (such as plenty of fruit and veg, low fat and low sugar foods, wholemeal carbs and good protein etc) is something you can do daily. With regards to exercise try some fitness classes which have an aerobic workout as well as some toning as well. Most aerobics or legs bums and tums have these. I would recommend doing this 2-3 times a week but ensure you have a rest day in between. This allows your body to recover helping to prevent injury.

When looking at toning, the scales can be your worst enemy so I wouldnt concentrate on a specific weight. Why not take your own measurements or ask a friend to help you, and take them each 6 weeks to monitor your progress. IE waist, hips, bum, thighs, arms etc. And also see how your clothes feel - if you're doing the right things then your clothes should start to feel looser.

You dont have alot of weight to lose so I wouldnt want to recommend going for this option as it would come off very slowly and it could demotivate you.

Good luck, hope this helps you a bit xx
