First wedding dance - what are you having and why?

lf1975  It is really difficult finding something which means something to you both, and isn't too cheesey. The music for the ceremony (we're having a civil wedding) is really hard too. We both like 'indie'/rock music so we're thinking about the acoustic version of Foo Fighters 'Everlong' or Aqualung 'Strange and Beautiful'. Do you use Spotify? If you do you can just search 'wedding' and quite a lot of suggetions come up. There's quite a lot of modern songs covered in a sort of classical/romantic way which is something I'd like. Search 'Vitamin String Quartet' on Youtube for some examples.

shellyriannon  Our "thats our song moment" was when h2b proposed to me. Just as he proposed a particular song came on in the restaurant. Unfortunately it was a reeeeeeeally cheesy one and I'm not sure if we like it enough to have as 'our song' - its Enrique Iglesias with Hero. I like the words like you said but He's Just So Cheesy!!!!

katie_reeve  We don't really have an 'our song' but we have both agreed that we want 'Me and Mrs Jones' sung by Michael Buble as our first dance as i will be Mrs Jones.

creature  Our song is Everything by Lifehouse, other suggestions we were going with were Byran Adams - I'll Always Be Right There, K-ci and jojo - All My Life, Westlife - Angles Wings, UB40 - I Can't Help Falling In Love With You, DJ Sammy - Heaven (slow/candlelit version), Alanis Morissette - Head Over Feet (acoustic version), Tracy Chapman - I Am Yours. There are many more on our list, and i do agree with you it is hard to find the right song, i have not long done 4 CD's for a freind of mine, it took 4 days of listening to lyrics for her but she loved everyone of them, shes mainly into Motown and soul but the moderner ones i put on she loved.

mrsclarke15_08_10  we are having Brian Adams - Heaven sung by one of our friends who is a fantastic singer and another of our friends will play the guiter so it'll be done accoustic, hopefully it's going to turn out really fantastic!!

mrscoe2b  We are debating on three at the moment the first is leona lewis bleeding love cos when we met we had both just come out of relationships and there were few conversations of "is it to soon?" and our friends n family were abit wary but we came through it so that song really tells our story plus it was no 1 when we started going out so it was everywhere!lol.the second is mariah careys hero so shellyrianna if you think you got cheese join the club!thats just because i love it and played it so much ste actually likes it now.the third is more cheese-islands in the stream and not katie n peters version the proper kenny rogers and dolly parton one.we just love it n i am a big big dolly fan.ste even sat through a tribute act with me which proves how much he loves me! (couldnt get tickets for the real dolly when she was here-gutted!)The best thing to do is go on youtube and put in wedding songs n see what suits you,is there a song bout a lady in blue cos lady in red is popular with women who wear red wedding gowns!i found my father daughter dance song on there its "i loved her first" by heartland.

rb2b  Ive got a few listed but my faves are Shania Twain - from this moment and the song leona lewis sings for the avatar film (not sure what the song is called) but its a lovely song

If we had the song we first kissed to it would be Beating Hearts Baby by Head Automatica bit its a bit fast lol. I did try to fins a string Quartet version, but no luck yet. xx

mrsrush2b  My H2B And I are having Halo by Beyonce as our first dance. Have to admit it was my choice, but the lyrics describe how I feel about him perfectly so how could he refuse!

x0caitlin0x  We're having Tiny Dancer by Elton John - very cheesy, but it's our song so there's really no other choice! I can't remember what my brother and his wife had for their first dance, but they did walk out after the ceremony to 'Pinky and the Brain'... takes all sorts I suppose!

debbieandjaysbigday  Hey girls, I am a massive TAKE THAT fan & my H2B has been dragged along to many a concert and even he quite likes their music now so we were thinking "Greatest day!" as our first song but then we thought perhaps thats too obvious and we should have that playing when we enter the hall together as husband & wife......ooooh its so hard to decide!! We both also like Take That's "Rule The World" and after listening to Beyonce's last album we absolutely love her version of "Amazing Grace!" its just beautiful. H2B has even suggested we go to proper ballroom dance lessons starting next year so we can do a proper waltz to it but not sure I will have the nerve incase I get the moves wrong or he stands on my dress decisions, decisions eh!? We have decided though the first dance after OUR dance will be Luther Vandross "Never too much!" What do you girls think?
