Hi Ladies
I've been going through loads of poems etc for my brother to do as a reading at the Wedding and I have to say I am finding them all a bit too sickly, sentimental and well basically not me. Then I came across this, do you think it would by too inappropriate to have at a wedding?
http://j-walk.com/other/goodwife/index.htm Honest opnions please
thanks

Wedding will be on 20 June 2012 Ceremony: Dewsbury, reception: Lajosmizse, Hungary
cicmatag@munchkin79 In my favourite wedding magazine (Wedding Ideas) a couple's friends (another couple) read this article out (very tongue in cheek) and everyone loved it. It might be worth pairing it with a "how to be a good husband" reading, and ask two friends to read them out.
I say if your guests like jokes and don't expect a dead serious ceremony, go ahead with it hun x

I think its great but needs to be paired with how to be good husband. My friend had it for her wedding, a group of her friends read it, the way they read it made it sound bitchy but I think that was just them!

Do not know when the wedding will be
nextmrstaylor@munchkin79 maybe have a little play around with it and make it a little more jokey, and also have a go of making it the other way round i.e getting the man to do all the usual 'housewife' duties as we are living in modern times and that article seems to have been written in the 50's x

Thanks for the responses, I'm still umming and aahhing over it, I think everyone would realise how tongue in cheek it is (especially as i am the higher earner/senior position between us) but I don't know if the older contingent would like it ie the mums/grandparents. I'm going to talk it over with my brother who is doing the reading and see what he says.
