Honeymoon Help - Sri Lanka, Mexico and Brazil

missengaged  Hi hun, my h2b's Dad is from Sri Lanka (would never know to look at h2b though...ha ha). Some of his family have just been over there so I will try to find out more for you as to who they booked flights etc with as I know they love their bargains but with luxury at the same time!!x

munchkin79  If you book a Palace hotel in Mexico at the moment you get free resort credit to use against excursions and special meals etc. Hotels include Moon Palace, sun palace, adventura spa and many others. Google them. X

accidentallyme  @peaches we did Sri Lanka for 10 days with Hayes and Jarvis with a 4 day world heritage tour and the rest of the stay at the beach. It's costing £1500 each and that's with an upgrade to suites and as all inclusive. We had to be a bit more flexible about which airport we flew from and that saved us £600per person!! kate2be  We really want to do Sri Lanka and Dubai, at a wedding fair we went to the other week we got quoted around 1500 for Sri Lanka x

hazzy1978  We booked through Thompson and went to Playacar in Mexico, all inclusive for 10 days end of August. It was fantastic and you don't have to book activities before you go, you can do it while you are there, we did. Cost us about £2400, staying at the Riu Yucatan. The only thing you need to be aware of at that time of year is that it is hurricane season x

mrstanner2be  @peaches just got back from Morocco weather was good we went to agadir which is the beach resort , we stayed at the royal atlas which was lovely but very quiet a lot of the guests there were talking about the Tikida Dunas which is supposed to be bigger and more fun, the place itself is quite nice but there isnt much there , we would go again but prob not for as long sweetie any questions just ask x

laraandsteve  @peaches Have you thought about a cruise? Then it'll take in a few different places for you with the option of staying on the ship and being pampered or getting off and seeing the different sites A few of us on here are cruise fans! xx

I've never been to any of those places but 3 of my friends have been to Mexico on their honeymoon and just for that I would never go there. I'd prefer something a bit different, but if you want a honeymoon type of place then thats perfect. However Im sure Brazil or Sri Lanka would be fab and definitely be a bit different.

As 'laraandsteve' said about the cruise. Mike and I had never done one and just fancied doing a different kind of holiday to the usual beach. He likes constant entertainment, whereas I wanted to relax a bit. To be honest we got the best of both and it was totally worth the money. Waking up in a different place each morning, on board entertainment, trips in the port - couldnt get bored. Plus flights, transfers and all food included!! Definitely worth thinking about but it does depend on what kind of holiday you're going for xxx

mrstanner2be  @peaches to be honest we didn't do much we just wanted to rest we went for 2 weeks we did the fantasia evening show and the trip to Tourant which is a local trip ( dont bother it was rubbish lol ) a few people did the marrakesh trip but we were to lazy lol xx

lf1975  @peaches Just logged in for the first time in ages and saw your post. Well remembered @boycee, yes we went to Sri Lanka. I can't recommend it enough. We did a tailor made holiday with Tikilanka Tours - http://www.tikalanka.com/. We did a 7 day tour with our own driver, then 7 days all inclusive with upgrade to one of the penthouse suites at The Blue Water - http://www.bluewatersrilanka.com/. The tour part was half board, so just lunches and drinks to pay for during the first week. I can't remember exactly how much we paid but I don't think it was much more than £1500 each. If you haven't already booked somewhere and want me to find the exact price just let me know. Tikilanka were fab (we initially got a quote with them through http://www.responsibletravel.com and got a free Srio Lanka Rough Guide thrown in!).

peaches  @lf1975 Thanks - will keep this in mind for future as we have now booked Paris, Monaco and Morocco for our honeymoon but still fancy getting to Sri Lanka one day xx

We're travelling with Hayes and Jarvis - doing 10 days. 3 days beach, 4 days tour, 3 days beach. All for £3000.

I'll pop a bit more info on when I'm off tomorrow - just done a 13 hour shift and need my bed! xx
