I need some help please ladies. H2B hates flying, well I suppose he doesn't mind it but because he gets so bored he won't even consider long haul destinations. Annoying as I love the US, Barbados and all the long haul places. We only have one week off per year due to running our own business and that week is over Christmas. It has to be hot with plenty to do. I love the sun. Where can we go that will be nice and warm and will be fab over New year? This will be the first time that we have actually been abroad over the Christmas holiday period.

@mrsm I would try Egypt, Sharm el Sheikh, as it is hot, about 5 hours away, cheap (usually, although maybe a bit more expensive at Xmas) and there is loads to do. We've been 3 times, always in the winter, and it's so nice to get the heat and come back all sunned and bronzed. A lot of Egypt places are all-inclusive, so you don't even need much spending money as most of your things will already be covered. I can recommend St George Three Corners (Kiroseiz) Resort - we've been three times and it's fantastic, always clean, always hot and the staff work SO hard. It's also a Christian hotel, not that it makes much difference as both Christians and Muslims work there, but it does mean that you needn't been too reserved around the resort (only if you go outside into the towns etc). xx

Tenerife, or any of the canary islands? they're warm all year, not sure where you can go short haul that'll be hot at that time of the year; i think you have to go long haul to be actually hot but the canary islands are warm, i think Turkey/egypt are as well but not sure if you'd count them longer haul as i think they're about 5 hours....

I honestly can't think of anywhere that would be particularly hot at that time of the year without going long haul. Bear in mind that if you are going long haul (especially if you can convince someone to upgrade you to first class as a wedding present!) there's plenty of films to watch and it'll be more than comfortable enough, get him to take a PSP or similar with him and he shouldn't be too bored. I must have spent about 6 hours of a flight to Jamaica playing FFIII on my DS, I think I had time left over to watch one film and then we were there. It'll go much quicker if he takes things to occupy himself with. Otherwise you may well have to compromise on the heat.

@mrsm Hmmm, as the others have said 'hot' won't be anywhere that's classed as short haul. There's always the canaries as @meeeshel said. We did a cruise round there over xmas a few years ago and it was pleasantly warm emoticon
My H2B gets very bored too but managed long haul to the Carribean and he's 6ft7 so moans about lack of leg room. With a decent airline, you will always have films and things to do. I played tetris for a good few hours with the TV screen in front of me (and we were normal class) I think Virgin do an upgraded class which isn't too bad price wise.
Egypt is always your other option. I went in November (again on a cruise) and it was warm enough to sunbathe without being too hot. We went to Egypt in June as our first holiday and both hated it as it was too hot for us.
I'd think about cruising though as if the weather isn't too great on 1 Island, you move onto the next Island the next day and hopefully get warmer weather emoticon x

@mrsctobe, @meeeshel, @raewright @laraandsteve @loz2879 thanks ladies. I am liking the sound of Egypt. I've decided that I'll just give him the list of possibles and let him decide and book it. It is supposed to be the grooms job to organise thehoneymoon after all!
