Where are you from and where are you getting married?

I live in Northern Moor, Manchester with my fiancee of 4 years and we are getting married in Cornwall. We chose Cornwall because I practically grew up there in the holidays and it's where R and I spent our first holiday and our 2nd and 3rd year anniversaries. The date is near our birthdays too (mine 14th, his 20th)

tinks1985  @emj85 they're going well, I'm from Birmingham and getting married in a little hotel in Solihull. It's not till next year but i'm having lots of fun planning everything.

How are all your plans going? Have you got much left to do?

Oooo that sounds nice. Someone I used to work with lives in Birmingham. I go down there on my way to Cornwall too.

Plans are going well thank you - got the venue and church booked. My uncle is doing our photos, friends down there and mum doing flowers, mum starting BM dresses soon and we've sent invites out and are (slowly) getting replies back. It's my CBM I'm having trouble with!

How many BM's are you having if any?

tinks1985  @emj85 i originally started out with 4 bridesmaids but my best friend (my chief bridesmaid) has fallen off the face of the earth so i now only have my 3 sisters and my niece will be my flower girl.

How about you?

emj85  @tinks1985 I think it seems to be an epidemic of chief bridesmaids!

I rushed in and asked my best friend and auntie to be chief and matron of honour but I only really wanted my friend. Then I have my other friend and my younger niece (who's 16.) I have recently asked my OH's cousin too as I have become a lot close to her, however my auntie's mum is not very well at the moment and is thinking of pulling out (she's my mum's cousin but I call her auntie) and my 'best friend' is completely uninterested so I think I will only end up with 3. I also have my nephew as page boy who will be 9 at the time of the wedding.

tinks1985  @emj85 it does sound like there's an epidemic of rubbish chief bridesmaids! My best friend showed no interest in the wedding since i asked her and now i can't even get her to reply to messages or answer her phone. Oh well, i guess if they're not interested enough now then it's their loss and the day will probably be better without people who don't want to be involved anyway

emj85  @tinks1985 I know that's kind of the same with mine and she automatically thinks that facebook is about her!

I wish I could just turn round and say don't bother but she's been my friend for 15 years and I can't bring myself to do it x

boycee  @emj85 hi and welcome to the home where no wedding talk or question is too much - aka final stitch A Cornish wedding sounds lovely - what have you planned for the decorations and where is your venue? I hope you manage to sort out the bridesmaid issue - and the lovely thing here is you are never alone in the wedding planning - all the highs and sometimes the lows.

emj85  @joski28 Thank you - yay date twin lol. Hope your plans are going well. It has come round SO quickly, I've been engaged 2 and a bit years and now only got 3 and half months!! Crazy x

@boycee Thank you - My decorations I have got little buckets and am going to fill them with sand and sea shells and tie a personalised balloon to them and for the wedding favours, each table is going to be named after somewhere in Cornwall and depending what table they are on, they will get a magnet with that picture and our wedding day. We're also going to have the sound of the waves playing as guests arrive at the reception for the meal. The venue is the community centre because we couldn't find anywhere else which would take 120 people! It is nice though and about a 5/10 min walk to the church. We are also having a blessing on the beach after the ceremony in front of St Michael's Mount. So excited.
