We started planning this year, in March and I get married in 18 days time! It is stressful at times, but it'll all be worth it! We haven't got much money, but there are so many things you can do on a budget and still look fantastic, there have been so many girls on here that have done it successfully!

Firstly I would probs look at places that you can have it, find out prices, packages and deals! Then guest list and then on with the rest of the planning!! Good luck, and we are all here for any type of advice at all! xx

kelz15912  @keiransmummy1 Congrats on the engagement hun. Firstly i woud decide where you would like to get married. ie church, registry office and hotel (registry office being the cheapest). I would say then think about the reception, i have am having mine in Social Club and its coat me £150.00. Next stage would be to thin at how many guests you where thinking about asking. Weddonh dresses can be bought from all kinds of places these days especially at a bargain price. Hope this helps hun x x

keiransmummy1  Thanks girls also forgot to mention, I am definitely having it in. My church as I go there most sundays and my son was christened there, so it's only right I should get married there too x

futuremrsd  @keiransmummy1 Hi and welcome to the forum! A year is more than enough time to plan- I got engaged in June and am getting married in July next year! As others have said first thing is to sort out guest list so you have rough numbers then decide on venue. Then you can get to the fun bits like the dress!! There's loads of fab ideas on here that others have done to DIY things and tips for how to do things on a budget so you'll pick up loads of ideas along the way!

gina130284  Congratulations - time wise it is possible, but if you need to get christmassy decorations then now is the time to get those. I think 12 months is plenty of time to plan a wedding - its the cost of it which can be difficult in that time. If you're fortunate enough to have parents offering to help or you're looking at the option of a loan then again this makes it easier!

keiransmummy1  Well, my Dad has offered to pay for my dress and give us 250 to do whatever we want. My stepmum is getting my shoes. And if I go for the dress I think I am set on, if I put a deposit down before xmas I can have any tiara for free. My fiance thinks his parents r gonna offer to help out with the venue... Gotta wait and see for that. We've decided we only want a close intimate formal kinda thing for the day time which also cuts on numbers therefore cost, I think it also helps that I don't have anything to do with my Dad's side of the family, my Dad doesn't either... Long story. I'm gonna use my mates DJ business, he did my sons christening and gave us a pretty decent discount ;) and he is very very good. Thinking same for cake. So all in all so far it's looking good! Xx

It sounds like you have done some planning ;) For time and money I'm sure you'll be ok. My h2b proposed this September, we're getting married in Feb 2012, and the only things left to do is send the invitations and buy my MOH's dress. So I'm sure you'll make it till the end of next year. And regarding money - here you'll find a ginormous amount of ideas and tips and inspiration. I can't believe how many things a person can make at home, thus saving money and having something unique

mrsbaugh2be  My venue is doing me a fantastic package including drinks, food, dj, table dj, buffet,acomodation for me and groom and 10 further free rooms all for £4000 this is a package for 60 guests also it is only this as i am getting married on a FRIDAY.

My church willl be arounf £400 including flowers and the choir.

keiransmummy1  Yep, I belong to the parish of the Church I am getting married in. I go there every sunday. We booked it yesterday and paid our deposit of 100 pounds. It feels so much more real now that we have an official date :') 1st December 2012! Not sure how much it is going to cost in full as the lady can only tell us in January apparently. But she gave us 700 as that is the most it can be but as we don't want organ, choir or video it will be considerably cheaper. (I want our own personal songs on CD and I want me little sister who is also a bridesmaid to sing) xx
