Hi everyone, we set a date for our wedding last week - 16th june 2012. its 11 months away but everyone keeps saying it will flly past. one of my friends is getting married next week and recommended this site. i have no idea where to start with the planning, the only thing we have decided is that we want a small wedding approx 30 guests in the day and 80 in the night. we have booked the local registry office and arranged a local venue for the evening where the buffet will be made by my parents.we are working on quite a small budget. any tips would be greatly received. thanks maree x

kerrie666@maree1203 Hello and welcome congratulations on setting a date looks like you have set off on the right foot by booking registry office and evening venue. E bay is a must for us brides to be on a budget I have saved loads of money getting my bridesmaids dresses off their. Some girls on here have used e bay to get their wedding dresses from China and saved a fortune check back through old forum messages to look for the sellers they have used and would recommend. missengaged@maree1203 Hi and welcome! This site is soooo addictive! Everyone is lovely and helpful and we are all on a budget in some way so here to help! I would say D.I.Y as much as you can! I have made or in process of making all my stationary, centre pieces, bouquets, (pics all in my albums) so anything you can do yourself then do as can save hundreds....I have as have many of the ladies on here!!! Congrats on the date and happy planning!! x

futuremrsconnal@maree1203 Hiya and congrats! Thats my wedding date too, I haven't been on here long but I love the site already! I have seen so many good ideas. I am also on a small budget and I have got most things from Ebay its a life saver! I got my Maid of Honour dress and Bridesmaid dress from china and they are gorgeous, only £130 for the 2 including p+p! I am making as much as I can on my own or with help from my BM. Good luck! x

futuremrsconnal@maree1203 Ive been quite organised so far I think so that I can spread the cost I try to buy or do something each week. We are having a civil ceremony in a country pub so the venue and reception is all in one place, that has been booked and the registrar has been booked. Ive booked photographer and my cake maker. Have everything in to make invites etc. I hadn't done too much b4 I came on here haha! x

oh my god @futuremrsconnal you have done soooooo much......well done for being so organised! only update since last post is that we have booked the dj and we have decided that we are not going to have a sit down meal after the ceremony, we are just going to go to the evening venue early and have a little bit of a buffet (before the evening 1) and have the speeches and drinks there. feel like i should have done more now....uh oh lol. xx

natsalot@futuremrsconnal Hiya, I'm also looking at getting my bridesmaid dresses from China. Have your arrived yet and if so are you happy with the colour/quality/fit etc? I've decided to have each of my bridesmaids in a different colour but I'm really worried about ordering online in case the actual colours clash.

maree1203@futuremrsconnal i suppose you have a point, aww thats really sweet thats something i hadnt even considered...uh oh lol. ye i dont get a lot of time, think tuesdays (day off) will be the wedding planning day but h2b doesnt have the tuesdays off with me :( i know you said you are on a budget 2 but i was just wondering how big is ur wedding going to be? were having a registry office with 30 guests in the day and then a small local pub/club with 80 guests in the night. due to the tight budget we have decided against a sit down meal and are going to the club early with the day guests for a small buffet before the main 1 in the night and drinks, speeches etc before the rest of the guests arrive.xx

futuremrsconnal@maree1203 there is 50 in total during the day including wedding party that will be at the sit down meal, we got a good package from the venue then there will be about another 70 at nite for the evening reception. X
