Hello all, just joined the site on a recomendation from a friend (thanks @pepzi25nic!!)
Getting married in May 2013, been engaged for 15 months now. For months people have been asking how my wedding plans are coming along, but other than booking the venue I haven't made any plans yet! Not sure when the right time to start organising is, but I've heard some people book everything up years in advance, so now I have the fear!!!

Welcome, We hopefully paying the deposit this week for our reception venue. Makes it feel so really. The only other things i have done is get quote's and buy some of the small things, as shown in my Photoblog of things bought, so don't worry. xx

hello and welcome to finalstitch! this is an addictive site but lots of great ideas and advice from all the ladies here, im getting married in 11 months time and have been wedding planning since the start of this year, with 11 months to go have already sorted venue, photographer, dj, registrar (civil ceremony), invitatons, cake, and my dress :D as well as getting my shoes, table decorations, favors and getting the thankyou gifts for our wedding party..... its never too early to get cracking on things! xx

tinks1985@pamelam welcome to the site and like the others said get ready to spend more time on here than you do anywhere else! It's very addictive but great at the same time.
There's no such thing as too early when planning a wedding, so don't feel you have to wait to do everything till nearer the time. The more you get organised now the less stressed you'll be in the run up to your wedding day! I'm not getting married till August 2013 but i've already booked my venue, florist, cars, bought my dress, veil, tiara and shoes. Now i'm on to sorting out a photographer and music etc. Even if you just make notes of everything that you want and get ideas down in a book/wedding planner. Then when you come to book things it will make it much easier. And don't forget if you need any help or advice we're here to help

Hi @pamelam! I'm aiming for may 2014 and am also starting to think about planning seriously. Thankfully we live in a small town and so providing we can afford the venues we want I don't think it will be a problem. Got my shoes and that's about it!
