Do not know when the wedding will be

Being new here and like many other women I am already fearing the mammoth task of organising a wedding. We haven't set a date just yet due to redundancy - so we won't be rushing into the expense of things just yet - we would be foolish ? Anyway having help and advice from you all is the heart of what I need now. Venue is the big issue for me - at least we know we want a civil ceremony!

welcome! the best thing to start with i would say is to make a rough guest list of who you want, so that you can start to look at venues (as they'll often need to know your numbers so can advise on the best rooms). then browse the net for venues that take your fancy, think about whether you want registry office, hotel, etc etc and then you can start browsing your area. Once you ahve the venue sorted you can start to think of dress, entertainment, and everything else really. Good luck; the ladies here are all lovely and this place is great for ideas - you'll soon be hooked! xx

hello and welcome i agree with @meeeshel your guest list is the most improatnt cos that way you can rule out venues based on size, once you have rough numbers think about budget...or if you arent worried about how long before you get married just pick the venue of you dreams then save like crazy. once you have your venues you will have more idea about what you want in terms of style etc.

princess_chloe@slimpower21 i no the feeling were getting married in 11 months and i lost my job in may still havent found anything yet so were trying to cut back on our budget till i find work :(
i agree with @meeeshel sort out a rough guest list first than u have an idea of numbers and the size venu you will need, also look for a colour scheme u want then u can make a collage of flower ideas, brideamaid dress ideas stuff like that so wen ur ready to start buying and that u will will b nicely prepaired x
