I am curious as to whether any of you are having a more alternative and rock and roll wedding? i love this scene and wonder how much of ourselves to inject into the wedding, I am confident enough to do as i please and suit ourselves as a couple but how much RnR is appropriate??! (more of a chat generator than a plee for help!) xxxx

jen150912@vikkasa It's your wedding, your rules! I LOVE the weddings featured on Rock and Roll Bride, but as much as I'm a wee bit alternative, I'm also quite traditional so we're not doing much. Apart from having Metallica as our first dance My H2B is a huge rock/metal fan, but he's not requested anything outrageous, and seems to be quite happy with what's been organised/decided so far! Totally go with what you feel is right xx

i agree, i keep throwing the odd curveball in and seeing how my mum reacts, but she knows me and knows that i do things my way and never follow what is expected (unless of course i want to). my dad is as alternative as us (perhaps more so sometimes!) as an ex Harley rider and lover of Rock and Roll so he embraces all the Rock bits i have thrown in so far! I love it! xx Whats a wedding is its not showing the personality of the bride and groom! xx I am a mix of alternative and an eternal child so i am mixing childhood bits, my obsession for Glee (!!??) and Rock and roll all in a bowl and seeing what comes out! fun xx

freyakins@vikkasa My wedding is 'Alice in Wonderland' themed. I am a very theatrical person and wanted to include that in my wedding. All my guests are super excited about my wedding, as they have now had their themed invites, and can't wait for the day. Some people I have spoken to (not people actually going to the wedding) think a theme that dramatic is a bit silly, and say they wouldn't do it, but alot of people love the theme. At the end of the day its what u and ur H2B want! I know that if I had chosen a more traditional wedding then I would regret it, as it is just not me! For your one special day, you should have it how u want, and Rock and Roll will be so much fun!

joski28@vikkasa We're alternative, grungey type people too but like @jen150912 we're also quite traditional so we're just putting little bits of us in there. I'm walking down the ailse to Just Breathe by Pearl Jam, first dance is Jeff buckley, having Dick Cheeses versions of a lot of our fav rock songs while we eat, sheet music cones and musical note charm favours, some retro records as sweetie bowls and i'm wearing converse low tops for the night time. Keeps the grunge in but in small doses lol. Our dj list also reflects us a lot but obviously throwing in some traditional party songs so peopl aren't bored out of their minds or offended by the hardcore haha. You should just do what you feel is right for you like Jen says too :D x

joski28@mrstanner2be awww, Creep is one of our songs but h2b's Nan would definately not aprecieate the swearing in it and I refuse to have the radio edited one coz it's the chorus that's special to us. Wish I had the balls to have it lol x

joski28@vikkasa Ooohhh Marilyn Manson rocks. It surprises me that Glee haven't tried him yet, they've done everybody else lol. We have to have some Glee too as a LOT of our friends love it. Having "The New shit" and various other sweary songs after the Nans have gone to bed or drank too much lol x

I love the rock n roll wedding idea, however my family don't share our taste (h2b was the drummer for the Korn tribute band "Korn Again" until last month) so we're sneaking in a couple of our songs (creed-with arms wide open, the foo fighters-everyone, nickelback-gotta be somebody) but having a big night out with our metal mates after the honeymoon (can't see any of them wanting to sit next to my dads mum and dad anyway )
