Hi Ladies,
When I was younger I had quite back acne on my back and shoulders. Now I only get the odd one or two blemishes, but I have been left with quite a few white scars from the original acne. I'm wearing a strapless dress, and during the ceremony my back will be covered by my veil, but I'm planning on taking this off once the ceremony and photos are over. I don't really want to wear a shrug/bolero for the evening either. Two questions I guess...firstly, does anyone have any suggestions for reducing the exisiting scars. Secondly, I have read forum posts about beauty regimes for your face, but has anyone thought about anything special to do for other areas to keep them spot free and looking good? Thanks xxx

jen150912@lollyjane Have you ever used Bio Oil? It's supposed to be great for reducing scarring visibility, and can be used everywhere. Obviously you'd need a hand putting it on, but I'm sure h2b would help! How are you having your hair? Would your hair cover them? x

lollyjane@jen150912 that's a good idea. I have used it on my face before and it did seem to work. Maybe I'll give that a shot! I'm having my hair up so it won't be of any use covering up! To be honest they aren't really that bad and I'm sure noone will even notice. I just want everything to be perfect x

i had a large scar on my leg and the hospital gave me a dressing which looked like a gell stuck to clingfilm and that really helped to bring down the redness and shrink the size of the scar....sorry i cant remeber the name of it tho
I was reading http://www.marieclaire.co.uk/beauty/best/6717/7/wedding-beauty-tips.html#stop the other day. In it top tips were:
- Drink plenty of water
- start exfoliating and mosturising x 2 per week
- book some manicures and pedicures or do it yourself
- start some facials before wedding to give time for the skin to get used to it and be less prone to breakouts on the big day
- testing fake tan options (about 2 mths before the big day)
- AND not forgetting your wedding perfume

essex_bride@lollyjane I have a large long scar on each foot where I had to have surgery several years back and I was left with (what I considered) long ugly, red, evil looking scars. I knew that I wanted to wear strappy / sandals on the day but was really worried about the scars showing even though the likely hood was no one would be looking and that the dress would probably cover them.. BUT I knew that they were there and it really bugged me, So I started using Palmers Cocoa butter on them, I had used cocoa butter before on evil looking stretch marks and it had helped so I thought that I didnt have much to loose, I rubbed the butter into each of the scars twice a day and after some time they did start to improve, they looked less red and evil and the skin was more smoother. They were still there but they had blended in with the surrounding tissue so were no longer so obvious. x

jen150912@lollyjane I agree with @loz2879 ! I use Keromask for my minging acne scarred face (not that my face is minging lol) and it's great - don't know why I didn't suggest it earlier!! x

jen_kristin@lollyjane i also had bad acne on my shoulders and still get it during the winter months...and i'm worried they may not go by my wedding day, so i've been using clearasel face wash on my shoulders and its really dried them out - there was also a cream i got from boots but it didnt seem to have any effect.
I'm going to try and let my back get plenty of sun before the wedding cos i think being under all those layers is what enflames them in winter and spring ;) Glad i'm not the only one

I think Neutrogena do a specially formulated body wash that contains spot-fighting magic? I've never used it myself, but it could be worth a go if you want to keep any fresh break-outs from happening. Or I've heard somewhere before that Original Source's tea tree body scrub does similar wonders.
Sorry, all I seem to be doing here is peddalling third-hand 'Everybody knows'-type information with no personal assurance of success. I feel a bit like a modern day soothsayer.
