Moving over some other false eyelashes discussion here into the one spot:
katie_reeve I already have long eyelashes and very rarely wear make-up but i was thinking about wearing false lashes on my big day to make my eyes stand out a bit more. What i want to know is; are they comfortable to wear and do they hurt to take off? xxx

lf1975 They are comfortable and it doesn't hurt to take them off. They are quite difficult to get on properly though - I don't wear them very often so struggle every time!! You can get semi-permanent false eyelashes fitted at beauty salons now but they are quite expensive (I saw £50 at somewhere close to me, they last about 6-8 weeks).

mrs2b If u rarely ware make up i would asvise against it, as soon as u put mascara on it will change your appearance around your eyes and make you look different, at a lot less cost!

mrscoe2b If you think your going to cry go for the falsies!lf1975 is right about the salon ones being expensive but for your wedding i think they are prob best cos they look really natural and will last your honeymoon too.plus the type you do yourself my fall off by the end of the night i no i couldnt ever get em to stay all day long!do a few trials first!

5tephie I don't wear make-up much at all, is waterproof mascara not tear-proof then? I always thought that was the point. This makeup malarky is gonna turn out to be more complicated than I thought.
21. June 2010 at 20:38
mrs2b Yes its tearproof! bless you, my sister was the same didnt wear much make up hardly ever n she did herself up (well i did her up) on the morning and she looked gorgeous. i think it really does make a difference if u dont wear any normally. Dont stress about it have a girly night and do yourself up with soem mates and wine and see the difference yourself

shellyriannon Why don't you have your eyelashes tinted instead? they will give you that mascara'd look but completely tear proof. Its amazing the difference it makes actually! I like my eyes to be dark anyway so I'm thinking of having mine done - I'll probably wear mascara as well.... Maybe even falsies! LOL I like dramatic eyes.... Think I'll experiment first though - don't want to look like a drag queen on my big day!!

@essex_bride had a similar question on falsies:
I don't have particularly long eye lashes and no matter how much curling or mascara I apply to them within an hour or so they always look flat and lifeless, I was going to go for some semi permanent lash inserts, that is until I found out how long it would take for them to be put on and being a bit of an eye-phobe the idea of someone being that close to my eyes for that long is a big no no so it looks like Im going to have to go with falsies on the day. I just wondered if any of you girls can recommend a good brand to go with as there are so many out there. I want the falsies to be as natural looking as possible, not too long yet still give me a full defined set of lashes for my wedding day... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated xxx

ajb2b Eylure definitely have the best glue! different shapes of lash suit different peoples eye shapes so I'd recommend trying a few different styles.
I would also really recommend the individual lashes that eylure do, I use them a lot and they last longer and are more secure than the strip lashes. When I went to get lashes applied at the beauticians these are what they used. They are a bit tricky to apply, especially if you are a bit of an eyephobe!

They seem to be on 3 for 2 in boots quite often.
Good luck.

@essex_bride mac! Ive a mac make up artist doing my make up and i had my trial the other day..they look wicked! They dont look fake, which can happen with alotta lashes. I too have lifeless lashes, i crimp em but they just flop after a while, the mac lashes are a tenner and so worth it and reusable! X

@wilsonsoon2bcollins Which ones do you use as there are so many different styles when I look online, I use a lot of their make up anyway and was planning on having a bit or a splurge at our local MAC counter in the next week or so as Ive decided even though Ive got my cousin who is a make up artist doing my make up the idea of specific make up products being used on me that have been used on others make me cringe. would rather buy x

@essex_bride what about semi-permanent, i had those they last two weeks and don't take as long to put on but have the same "wow" and natural look as the semi-perm. x

munchkin79 Hi
@essex_bride where in Essex are you?
I have to agree with
@ajb2b about the Eylure individual lashes. Just a few stuck on towards the corners make a massive difference without them looking fake and also if you lose one or two it makes no difference rather than an eye caterpillar making its way down your cheek.

heggy What about just dying your eyelashes? Mine are blond and it works sooo well and only takes a few mins. Usually costs £10-15

rachaelluke im a beauty therapist and we usually recommend a lash tint and then clear mascara, this will darken and define your lashes, lasts about 6 weeks and is cheap to have done, also if you have a few tears you dont have to worry about it running xx

raewright If you already have long lashes, a lash tint and clear mascara would work wonders. I've worn a couple of different false eyelashes before and while they don't hurt to take off or are not uncomfortable to wear as such, I did find them quite annoying as they push your natural lashes down, so I constantly felt like I wasn't opening my eyes properly as the top line of my vision was always a little blurry.

tassarella ooo I like the idea of semi-permanent false lashes. That way they would last for the wedding, blessing and honeymoon , going to the hairdressers in a bit for my hair trial so will have a chat with them about it. I'm going for quite dramatic eyes though. Have to agree with others that if you do not usually wear make-up a lash tint and clear mascara will work wonders for you for the day I'm only thinking about falsies because I love dramatic eyes and I do wear make-up regularly. xx
