am i the only one who is finding it impossible to find a reasonable priced Hair and Make up person for the wedding. All i want is someone to do mine and 2 bridesmaids hair and make up that costs less than £500?
I live on the outskirts of london in Uxbridge and everyone i have had a quote from around here is completely ridculous and i am getting soooo annoyed!!!

cicmatag@amandasteadman have you tried asking around department store make up counters? some girls there do wedding make up on the day as well. If you go there and say you want to buy some products they will probably do a free trial for you (so you can see their work and don't have to fork out £50-60 for a trial) and they will probably do your make up on the day cheaper than "official" wedding make up artists. As for hair, ask around local hair salons, they might have a stylist who would do your hair for a reasonable price x

Try your local college the level 3 students have a bridal unit and the tutors are on hand to insure perfection, you can take in picture's of what your looking for. Our bridal hair is charged at £10 while training. x

laraandsteve@amandasteadman I agree with @mrsmander2b. Try your local college or I was going to have a girl who worked in a local spa but does make up in her spare time. Most beauty therapists are make up trained and wouldn't mind a bit of extra money.
I was going to have my hair done at my parents but saw how much extra girls on here were paying for stylists to come to the house so now me and 3 BM's are off to the salon to have our hair done. We've pretty much got the whole place to ourselves (mainy cos the other hairdresser there is my mums friend and is coming to our wedding though, lol) but for me and 3 BM's, hair on the day is £80!! Good luck and hope you find somewhere soon x

loves_to_dance@amandasteadman I have booked louiseseymour to do hair and makeup for me (with trials) and hair for my mum and 2 bridesmaids. I've been quoted £245 for all of this which doesn't seem to be bad to me. I've not had my trial yet, but judging by her website she looks very good.

Also try not to mention wedding for your make up! The price definitely seems to soar as soon as that word is mentioned!! Do you have a hair salon you normally use? Wont they do your hair for a reasonable fee?
