I am just wondering what people thought of doing your own makeup for the wedding - my sister had hers done professionally and she regretted it - it wasnt what she wanted and yes she had a trial etc .. I feel happier doing my own make up just wondered if anyone felt as I do or should I just get it done professionally?

I think you should do what you feel comfortable with. I am going to do my own because I enjoy doing my makeup and i know the way i like to look. I dont want to look too different from what i normally do.
I would say go for it yourself! If your good at doing it then why not?

@mrsd2012 i think if you feel more comfortable and more relaxed doing your own then go for it I think there are a lot of ladies on here that have done their own. I am luck my MOH is a beautician/make up artist and has offered to do it for me. I think if I had to have someone I didnt know do it I would have felt uncomfortable and done mine myself. Do whatever is going to make you most relaxed on the day I think. xx

I think you should do whatever you are comfy with, if you would feel better and more relaxed doing it yourself then do it. emoticon I was going to do my own until the last minute when I decided I wanted to be pampered and if I couldn't do it on my special day when could I? My trial was great (she took plenty of notes) and my wedding make up was exactly the same so I was very happy.

  • Wedding will be on 20 June 2012
    Ceremony: Dewsbury, reception: Lajosmizse, Hungary
@mrsd2012 I'm going to do my own as I really enjoy doing my own make up, plus I will have the ceremony and the reception 3 days apart so that would mean forking out for a make up artist twice lol. If you, like many of us, don't trust a stranger to do your make up,do your own, but bear in mind that you might be nervous on the morning of your wedding and your hands might be shaking a bit... I find doing make up therapeutic but some people might find it stressful, so go with whatever you want. Have a few trials at make up counters to see what other people can come up with and also to give you some ideas x

  • Do not know when the wedding will be
@mrsd2012 you're not the only bride here to consider this, and I agree with the others, it's what you are comfortable with and can afford emoticon If you're DIY'ing, a great tip was to make the most of the free BOOTS trials and maybe have some fun and make a weekend of it with the bridesmaids (maybe some wine? emoticon xx
