ok so another of my cutbacks for xmas is a make up artist..i dnt really think i need one as i'm ok with applying make up. however ive hit a dilema i dont know what colours to use!!! as my dress is a vibrant red im finding it difficult to choose colours, my hair is nearlly a chocolate brown colour and my eyes are blue. now i like my eyes to have a thick black lining of mascara but a moderate black lining of eyeliner as it really shows the blue in my eyes and they stand out much better with black as oppose to brown i'm stuck with working out what coulour eyeshadows and in which style e.g my favourite are doe eyes im also stuck on lipstick..often i will use a soft browny pinky one, a nude one or a red i love red lipstick but will red lipstick be wrong with a red dress?? if anyone has any good advice id be very grateful... paying for a makeup artist means one less xmas prezzy for H2B and i cant have that

What about a gold coloured eye shadow? I always think this looks nice with red. You've got to be careful not to match your eyes to reds or pinks otherwise it looks 'sore' if that makes sense haha. I also think a nude colour on your lips would look nice with the red dress. I always think bridal make up is nice when natural (and natural doesnt have to be boring) but I think those colours will be nice with your hair colour and wont take away or clash with your vibrant red dress xx

cicmatag@kristinanikita you could have a make up trial at one of the make up counters at Debenhams or Boots, just tell them that you will be wearing a red dress and what can they recommend.
I'm crap at picking the correct colours, but once someone tells me what products and shades to use I'm quite good at doing my own make up, so I rely on advice from the pro's As @gina130284 said shades of gold and brown would compliment your dress nicely and they would also make your eyes stand out.

I've got blue eyes and I normally wear smudgy brown eyeshadow through the day and dark blue eyeliner. The blue eyeliner brings out the blue much better than brown. I find brown eyeliner makes me look tired and black is too harsh for me with being blonde. However, I wanted a more sophisticated look for our daughter's wedding and went for smokey greys which I haven't worn for years but it worked really well and really suits blue eyes and would go with your red dress too. Not sure about the lipstick though... depends on the shade of red in your dress.
