Wedding dreams or nightmares - what are yours?

quoth_the_raven  The night I got engaged I dreamt that my MIL had arranged the whole wedding for us and was herding us into it right then. It was on a boat (I'm afraid of water), and the dress she gave me was blue, green and red, and she gave me a pair of wellies to wear with it. Very strange.

rachelmcdermott  ive only had one nightmare so far, i was walkin down the aisle with my hair rapped up in towel and the hairdresses had to do me hair after the ceremony

leeann86  I had a dream that no guests turned up for the ceremony and arrived just in time for their dinner :( also in the dream there was no chair covers and no centre pieces etc which is all stuff I have arranged already but I think its just wedding overload!

annie_t  i had dreams and keep having them lol


1) we got married fine, went to do first dance and H2B had no arms or legs !!
2) Got to alter and it was so old man i dont know but still married lol
3) Myself & H2B marry my best mate (think this is coz she jokes saying she gonna say we cant marry each other we can only marry her - she gonna speak up when asked if anyone knows why we cant marry lol)

littlemissshowoff  I've only had one so far. I dreamt that the whole wedding went completely wrong - we lost the paperwork at the last moment, didn't get the music sorted, my parents kept talking through the important bits and I married the wrong person!!!

bluloo  i have had a few bad dreams
1) h2b doesnt turn up and im left there alone
2) h2b marries someone else
3) family and friends dont turn up
4) my limo/ cake doesnt turn arrive
5) my dress doesnt turn up in time for the day

the list goes on. i wish i was lucky enough to just have the 1. i still have months of these stupid dreams
i think its totally normal for the bride to have some sort of bad dream. why cant it be the h2b that has the bad dreams

princess4theday  wow yer iv had nothing but nightmares. iv dreamt that i forgot it was my wedding day an i had to borrow a dress from a shop which was too big an i didnt have time to have my eyebrows waxed or get a tan, then my brother phoned to say he d lost the rings he had to go home to get them.
one that my h2b decides not to marry me. he finds someone else.horrible dream it took me a while to realise it was just a dream ha.
think it is just anxiety of it all. its a lot of careful planning that we have done, so must be on our minds even when we asleep.stressfull things planning a wedding an hopefully ill never have to do it again ha xx

angelil  I've had quite a few wedding nightmares where just nothing is ready and there's lots of last minute panic for loads of really weird things that I'm not really having IRL

mrsking2b  I had a nightmare over the weekend on both Sat & Sun night that when I go for my dress fitting this Friday, the dress doesn't fit me properly, looks absolutely hideous and I can't get a refund/exchange cos it was made to order

matts_mrs  Touch wood, at the moment, I haven't had "nightmares" as such, but every night since we decided it was going to be in July instead of Oct 2012 I lay in bed just thinking over and over about everything I need to get, have I thought of everything and my head just won't shut up.
I do keep having "wedding" dreams of some variety or another, but then I've always done that. If it starts progressing to the scary kind I'll be sure to let you know. x

missl  I have the one where I turn up and no-one is bothered, and seem to have forgotten what day it is! Sometimes my dress has disappeared, and I get really upset and no-one cares, telling me it's okay to get married in my jeans...

mizza1987  mine was the hairdresser didn't show up so i got married with bedhair........!!! xx

joski28  God iv'e still got 15 months to go and i've had a few. The most upsetting one was that I was late for our wedding and couldn't find anything to wear. No idea why I didn't have a dress mind. I ended up putting on a chines style silk dress I have that I know Dan loves, then spent a stupid amoun of time putting on nail varnish that didn' match and kept smudging. When I eventually got to the church, everybody had gone and the church was locked up. x

googlebug85  had a terrible one last night that i turned up h2b turned up and all the guests were there but talked all the way through the ceremony didnt want photos was horrific ceremony and as we travelled to the venue no one could be bothered to come!! it was awful and tonight im dreadding sleep!! 11 days left till my wedding day well 10 days and 1hour 50 mins and they wre getting more frequent and scary!!!

matts_mrs  Ok, I joined the nightmare club last night (well early hours of this morning) and am consequently typing this half dead at the moment.
It's nothing major (although was enough to wake me up stressing) but I had a dream that I was pregnant at the wedding, but the bump literally appeared on the day of the wedding so the dress didn't fit and instead of getting my hair and make up done on the morning I was tearing round like an idiot trying to find a maternity dress that would be suitable for the wedding but couldn't find anything so, as a result, I ended up going to the ceremony in leggings, a baggy top, no make up and my hair looking awful.
It does sound daft when I type it, but good god, it was real enough to freak me right out this morning!!

lisajane85  That wld wake me up@matts_mrs so funny tho can u imagine the expression on peoples faces 2 c u walking in2 the ceremony in leggingsn baggy top haha to funny!! I had dream that on day of wedding l found my invites under my washing which meant l forgot to send them&l didnt have make-up,hair etc booked then l realised l had no flowers! so know wot u mean abt waking up freaked out,think we r all just worrying abt our speacial day but sure they will b nothing but dreams!well fingers crossed.wishing yous all the best of luck planning ur wedding day girlies x

boycee  jessiebops Oh my god i keep having the worst dreams ever about my wedding.... my dress is not MY dress... my dad decides he wants to go for dinner with his girlfriend rather than give me away, my H2B decides he cant make that day and wants to arrange it for the next week, I lost my wedding rings, I have no shoes and my cars dont turn up!! Is this normal..... I will be a nervous wreck by the time it comes around!

ourbigday I don't usually remember my dreams, but I have had a few nightmares too! Apparently my h2b, who thankfully completely trusts me, says I keep saying the names James and Mark in my sleep!? OOoops. I don't even know someone with these names!

littlemissshowoff Yeah, I had a major nightmare a few months back. Think it's pretty common with being stressed out and constantly worrying about wedding plans. Try to relax and forget about anything wedding related before going to bed. That will hopefully help. xx

i have 1 dream thats repeated now and then.
we get married all is fine .... til our first dance - my H2B has NO legs or arms !!! i have told him and h giggled and said everythings gonna be ok. (i no clue where the dream came from)
another 1 i had once
i turn up at wedding, get to H2B ... to find its not him but some reallly really old guy but we marry anyhow :S

katiedarlin yes i had a dream last week that i went hillwalking the week before the wedding and broke my arm i had a total bridezilla moment in A and E cos the cast they wanted to put on didnt match the colour scheme and would pull at the fabric of the dress.
i had another that i fell and needed skin grafts on my arms so that i wore a blanket to cover the scars!
they are so self centered!

mrsctobe @annie_t maybe it's your husband in his old age? Maybe it's a good sign that you will have a long and happy life together?
I haven't had any nightmares as such, although every now and again, I do have a bit of a panic attack as I've never done anything like this before, and all my worries mount up on me and then my brain starts playing games on me.
I did once also dream that the man at the altar was not my h2b. I also dreamed my mum's family would get in a slanging match/fight (which is a real possibility) so maybe I'm stressing about it.

I do worry however that something will happen between now and the wedding that will ruin everything - I don't know what, like losing a job or having a car crash or something, as I don't feel I deserve to be so happy. xx

sophie2bgillies i had a dream that i married a shark once when i was younger LMAO! I was nae happy lol! Don't think i've dreamt about our wedding yet but had a lot where i've had babies Yep i have very weird dreams!

Dreamt the other night that the venue was all dirty and then just as I was about to walk down the aisle I didn't have half my makeup on and my wedding co-ordinator had to finish it all off in front of everyone

mrshstobe lol oh no!! mine have now started too n i've another year to go! lol. i dreamt last night that me and my mum had gone to the wedding shop (same one i've got my dress in!!) to look at bridesmaids dresses, trudy showed me all her new bm stock and it was all HORRIBLE!! lol they where nearly all short which isn't what i want and had weird patterens on them! and the long ones where worse! some looked liked they where nite dresses n others knitted!! then i realised all of a sudden that i haddn't told my bms that we where going to look for their dresses to day! so i phoned up my moh and she was at home, she said she'd come soon but she was just drinking a bow.......then she got all panicy saying.. i don't normally drink during the day its just one!! honest i don't do this often!! lol i told her to get her ass down here and not to forget her bra!! lmao!! then i asked where the rest of the stock was, last seasons stuff but they didn't have any!! i'd just have to pic the rotten stuff! i asked could i try my dress on again while we waited and trudy said she'd have to find it as she'd been tidying! and it turned out to be rolled in a ball n stuffed in the bottom of a cupboard!!!!! lol

katiedarlin last night it was that some joker set up a xbox in the venue and my H2B kept telling the registra to hold on whilst he just finished the level and then non of the men would sit down at the table to eat becoz they were toobusy playing. also some people bought sausages and ate them in the room and didnt come to the breakfast. i still have 6 months to go :(

jessiebops Oh god!! Its really awful. mine last night was my sister (who is a bridesmaid) was sat at the back of the ceremony and refused to walk down with the others, when i went to speak to her everyone looked at me, i hadnt had a shower or got changed, no make up or hair done and when i looked at my sister she was wearing my WEDDING DRESS!!!!

stella4ben Arrrggghhhh I had my first one last night!!!!! Everyone turned up wearing jeans (even my dad), I'd forgotten to order any food or do alterations on my dress and my dad thought it would be a good idea to give me a weding present of a hot air balloon in the shape of a cadbury's creme egg. RANDOM!!!!
I packed up all my stuff and walked out of my own wedding.....hilarious!!!! x

mainly that my hair goes wrong, or falls out, or the venue is horrible when we get there or nobody turns up, or my dress is not right.
i think it's just cos we've all got loads on our minds. roll on 5 months when i can relax!!

bluloo i have been having them to. some are that we dont even get married others are that my hair wont go how i want it, family start arguing and ruin our big day, the cakes falls over, my dress doesnt fit and other bits goin wrong. my dreams aint great at the mo when it comes to the wedding. its horrible dreamin, makes u think bout all the c**p that may happen

@11thnovemberbride here's the long list of other nightmares/dreams, it seems 1000% natural seeing as your working day and night to prepare, and it's always on your mind. Here's hoping tonight you have a dream rather than nightmare
11thnovemberbride Gosh, my dream was awful I had a choice of three bridal dresses to chose from and none of them where what I suited or wanted but it was the morning of the wedding and there was nothing I could do, my htb gave me two hundred pounds to run out and buy another dress but the one I picked didn't suit me either, then I forgot my petticoat aswell as my veil..

portsmouthjen I've had a couple of dreams about being late for the wedding - even though I was already at the venue. And in the dreams I hadn't had my hair or make up done but I didn't seem to care (or notice). Was quite odd.
Last night I was dreaming about the bridesmaid dresses (even though they are all sorted) and then I woke up and was awake for about 2 hours with all wedding stuff going around in my mind - grrr!

unbunchkin I have had a couple - First one was that it was the morning of the wedding and I hadn't tired on my dress or shoes. The dress was too short and the shoes were too big. I put them on anyway and went to sit on a park bench to wait for the wedding cars feeling horrible. My H2B walked over the road with a can of beer in his hand sat down next to me and opened the can & spilt it all over me! I called the wedding off at that point.

Another was that I was having a double wedding with someone I didn't know and we had the pick of two dresses, she picked the nice one and left me with the nasty stained one - I took the dress to my aunty and asked her to clean it for me, she turned the lights out and was like 'Ahh, no, it's easier to clean in the dark'. Woke up scared!

baldwin2bconnolly  My big day is june 2012 and my dreams have started already, i think mine is more because i have 3 very good friends getting married within 4 weeks of each other and all the stress of them all is playing on my mind about my own day :s

heggy  I had a very trippy dream that my Grandad (he's dead) organised the flowers and I hated my bouquet, so my mum and I went to get another one done, but couldn't find anyone to tell that's where we were going. We had to go by boat (no water anywhere near my house or venue!) and it was a real race against time.

It was so vivid that when I woke up I told my H2B that no matter what happened I would be meeting him at the alter!! Still have to keep telling him this even though the dream was months ago and there's another 4months til the wedding!

angelil  ah nothing really exceptional just all stuff that seems really silly when you wake up! like deciding my lipstick colour wasn't right and my sister and i going out to buy another lipstick moments before the wedding was due to take place - not only silly but very silly seeing as i am a beauty blogger and have entire boxes stuffed with lipstick so would always have the right colour :p :D

I'm having my wedding dress made and I know Annette from networking. We were at an event and she stood up to do her 'pitch' She then finished it by saying 'A lot of you know, I'm making Lara's wedding dress but I am seriously ill and won't be able to do it or the bridesmaid dresses. Can anyone help?' I then stood up, burst into tears and said 'but they need to be made in 4 months!!'

Not nice and had to text her asking if she was OK as was that worried about her!!

accidentallyme  Last night I dreamt that cause I've lost so much weight my dress was massive on me and kept falling down (round my ankles!!) and it was also too short. Very strange as my dress has a corset back anyway and I don't mind if it's too short as I can show off my shoes!! xx

1-never had a veil so i got my aunty to run home and get my communion veil haha
2-turned up too late and everyone had gone to party
3-just keep wearing the dress and pauls just standing around not bothered and im dancing round like 5 year old child huh?
