@11thnovemberbride I am going for natural colouring on my make up. I don't often wear make-up and mostly never during the day. I am thinking of having my eyelashes tinted and extended so that I don't need to worry about mascara. Hair I've had one trial, had it curly and up, going to trial it half up half down and maybe all down - not quite sure yet, but a compromise between what he wants and what I want as he likes my hair down, I like it up and out of the way......men just don't understand how annoying it can be to have hair blowing in your face all day!!! xx

@11thnovemberbride I'm going for natural make up as I'm not a heavy make up wearer anyway so wouldn't want to walk down the aisle caked in the stuff also having hair natural as it's loose curls naturally so will go with something like that but not quite sure of the specifics just yet still got lots of time to think.

Make up will basically just be natural, although I haven't quite decided whether to have a splash of colour with the eyeshadow or not. Hair I haven't the faintest idea, though. I'll be going to a hairdresser's at some point to just ask them to play and see what they recommend. I definitely won't want it all up, and I'd want it wavy at most rather than curly, and I want it as long as I can grow it; that's as far as I got. I'm not having a tiara or veil, but I'm considering flowers in my hair. I'm a bit worried that I may then look like I had a run-in with a floral-decorated haystack then, though, so we'll see.

I am a massive make-up wearer so I think if I went for too natural a look my H2B would wonder if I was sick lol. I'm going to go for the very clear and smooth skin with just a little hint of apricot cream blusher and then my eyes will be quite defined and smokey metalic with long thick eyelashes (but not spiders legs!! lol) and a deep pink lipgloss. My hair is going to be in a messy side bun with loose curls and my side tiara.

On the day i did wear more make up than I would on a day to day basis, my eyes were more dramatic with false lashes and a combination of a grey smokey look and pearly white to open them up...We decided to go with this so that 1. They would last throughout the day and 2. Would be noticeable within the wedding photographs and then I went for a natural colour on my lips and it worked really well and lasted

@11thnovemberbride I never wear make up during the day, and only when I'm on a night out or family do, purely as I can't be bothered. My skin is a lot better than it used to be, so I don't mind going bare-faced.

I'll be having my usual foundation base, a little pink blusher, and silver/grey eyes with false lashes and black eye liner. I never wear lipstick, and only ever pale pink or clear lipgloss, but I might try get a soft red lipstick, just for something a bit more special than a normal occassion's war paint!

For hair, I'm going half up/half down, with soft curls. I'll have a few hair extentions in for added thickness, and also my side tiara and veil. I don't suit my hair in up-do's as i've got a round face, and I want the curls added to make it look softer, as I always straighten my hair.

I'll look like me, just better lol x

@11thnovemberbride Ah, I aim to please...

Okay, your make-up challenge, though! Well, don't despair - you're naturally pretty and without any glaring 'problem areas', so I'm sure we'll find something. Firstly, though, we need to know whether you have warm or cool skin tones (you look cool in the picture, but some photos have misleading lighting.) If you're unsure how to tell, a warm complexion means yellow undertones to your skin and you probably tend to tan in the sun rather than burn, whereas a cool complexion means red or bluish undertones and you probably become lobster-red in the sun rather than tanning. I think if the veins in your wrist are blue rather than green/invisible it means you're cool as well. In a colour sense. Not a social one.

Depending on which you are, though, there's different advice to give make-up wise, so that's the next step.

@11thnovemberbride Ah, join the club. Tanning is a myth, I swear. But then again, Welsh people never see the sun, so possibly that's a racial belief.

Okay! Well, I'm assuming from most of your posts that you don't really wear make-up or know what you're doing with it all that well (apologies if that's wildly wrong), and so will explain everything in tedious detail. Foundation first. In spite of having cool skin you clearly don't suffer from any problems with redness, you lucky cow, so you'll want to tend towards a foundation with a pinkish undertone rather than a yellow one. The exception, and the cheaty way out, is to get one of those foundations that blend to your natural skin tone by using Magic or some such - I know that Benefit do one called My Perfect Match, which I've used, and it is very good and will stay on all day. It wasn't particularly oily either, as I recall. A bit pricey, though, so it's possibly one to save up for. Unless on the morning of the wedding you dash to a Debenhams and "try on" a tester, I suppose... Anyway. Yeah. Pale pink-based foundation, or a colour-matching one, and just go to make-up counters and try on samples until you find one you like. I made sure to take a picture of myself for each of mine as well, to see how well it would come out in a photo.

And for the love of all that's holy, keep shy of anything that turns you orange. Walking down the aisle looking like you've been Tangoed is not attractive. And it's aging. Ideally, aim for the palest shade that will suit you without making you lighter; never try to darken yourself with foundation. Classic error.

Blusher! Pink or blue undertones again - avoid coral or orange or what have you. Pinks of most shades will suit you, though. It you want a bronzer, firstly, be sparing, and secondly, pick the shade carefully. A golden one is no good. Whichever you go for, though, blusher or bronzer (I'd recommend either just blusher or both, mind) apply it by first smiling. Brush it onto the apple of your cheek, and then sweep it up towards your temple along the underside of your cheekbone. It'll help give your cheekbones a nice bit of added definition without being too extreme. Also sweep a bit onto the underside of your chin. There are additional tricks here for contouring and "changing" your face shape, but you don't really need them.

And then we're onto lips and eyes! Which is where the fun bit begins, because that's where you choose style. Traditionally you only make a feature of either eyes or lips, see, or you risk looking like a demented trout; personally, I prefer to go for eyes. With your lips, get a lip liner in a shade as close to your own lip colour as possible - it doesn't have to be exact, but close - and use that first. I'll leave it to others to choose whether lipstick or lip gloss is better, because I hate lip gloss and am biased, but in terms of shade if you're going natural just pick something that's only one or two shades darker than your real lips. If you want to emphasise your lips you can go for something darker or brighter, although I wouldn't recommend lighter. Again, though, with the colour, pick something with a pink or blue undertone - berry, rose, mauve, plum, pinks, that kind of thing. If you ever want red lips, actually, bear that in mind - a blue-based red will work for you, but an orange-based one will not, and may give you a strange clown-face.

Eyes are the really fun part, though, in my view, although they're also the most complicated. Classically you're trying to make them look bigger, and usually slightly further apart, and you can find plenty of tutorials online if you just type "How do I make my eyes look bigger with make-up?" or some such into Google. And they'll often have pictures, so you can work out what the hell they mean. But; here's where you really have options! Firstly with colour. If you want an entirely natural look, then go for something on the pink-lavendar-lilac spectrum, and possibly a dark bluish-brown if you want a good low light. If you want to introduce a splash of colour, though, then here's where to do it. I seem to recall your main wedding colour is blue? Good news! You can wear blue. You can also get away with greens and violets, and if you really want, you can go for jewel-brights like turquoise and emerald, but depending on your overall style, that might not be appropriate.

The big thing I'd be tempted to recommend, though, is that you match your idea for an Audrey Hepburn beehive with a cat-eye eyeliner:

http://www.thebeautyandmakeupblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/14.jpg

You might want to make the wing out to the side a fraction shorter, but then again, if you like the style, it would work if you also have the hair. Note that the line across her lashes is fairly thin and chic, though. You can team that with either pinks and lavendars or blues, if you want a touch of colour, and go for the natural option on lips. If you're into false eyelashes they'd also be good here. A thicker line looks awesome, but more for a funky day look than an elegant celebration, unless you just go for the natural colours as in this photo (although her eyes are quite big in it, so try not to scream when she suddenly looms at you):

http://www.womenxone.com/files/2009/12/Bold-and-winged-cat-Eye-Makeup-3.jpg

And finally, I've found a picture of what that might sort of look like! Ah, Google. What would we do without you?

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jYAlfkViaa0/TT7NZ9Fop2I/AAAAAAAACS4/oBt7of31ukw/s16...

Obviously, just tweak and adapt anything you don't like. And obviously do ask if there's anything you want more detail on, or what have you, and I shall essay at you again.
