Hi girls! Just been planning out my budget and trying to cut back a bit. I was wondering what everyone is doing regarding hair and make-up? I'm a bit hopeless with my hair so i was going to ask my hairdresser to do something for me but don't know how much that would cost yet. And i think im going to do my own make-up. My own slight worry is that as i don't wear that much usually, is it going to cost more to buy new make-up then it would to pay someone to go it on the day. What are you all planning?

I'm fortunate that one of my best mate's is a hairdresser, so she's offered to do mine for free on the day. I will be doing my own make up on the day. I'm planning to go to one of the make up counters and getting a few ideas and I want to spend a bit of money on getting the right foundation and concealor, the rest of the make up, I'm happy with what I already own so shouldn't work out to expensive.

I don't have much choice really with going abroad! I'm gonna have a hair trial at home before going and take photos of every angle to take with me so they can copy. However there is no make up artist on the ship were getting married on so gotto do my own.
But as @munchkin79 said I will go to a few make up counters first and also but a foundation very slightly darker in case I've got a bit if a tan by the time we get married haha.

I pretty much live in make up so I'm happy doing my own. I am going to my local MAC counter to get some good quality make up that they'll colour match to my skin, as day to day I use cheap Boots and Avon stuff. Hair wise there'll be 3 or 4 hairdressers at our ceremony so I'm sure I can convince one of them to do it with the promise of some free booze!
If you do go to a make up counter they'll give you lots of tips on the best way to apply and styles that will suit you and your attire so you can always practice at home until you feel comfortable doing it yourself.

im paying £25 to have my makeup done on the day buts thats a friend of a friend so dont know if im getting it cheaper. my friend done her own make up for her wedding last year she didnt have to buy any new make up as she held a vie makeup party (used to be virgin vie)and the hostess perks are really good when i done one i got £100 of make up for free. also the vie party organisers do wedding makeup on the day and i think thats only £25 too.
