Wedding Hair trials, when to arrange and to include flowergirls?

raewright  I've already had a couple of trials (6-7 months in advance of the wedding!) but I've had extensions put in and messed around with. I'm still going to grow my hair between now and the wedding and will probably have several more before January. I go to my hairdressers to have my extensions put in and them style it for me and it only costs me a few quid so I don't mind having a few different goes at it.
If you're keeping your hair the same length then you could start whenever, money permitting. Are you having a hair stylist come out to do your hair on the day or having your hairdresser do it? From when I looked into it, I know stylists seem to charge loads, which is why I'm not bothering. Luckily there's 3 hairdressers that will be at our ceremony so I can pretty much take my pick! I have 6 flower girls so have said I can't afford to sort them all out too, I think all of them will be perfectly happy to have their parents do it, and I'm not fussed about them having the same style so they don't really need the same person to do them all. Have you decided on hair styles for your girls?

bongolola  I had my first and only hair trial last sunday (so 5 weeks before) had bridesmaids done in June. Not had flowergirl trials as like you they dont like their hair messed with either, will be a surprise on the day :s x

tinks1985  i think getting the girls involved is a lovely idea. Especially as the little one isn't great with having her hair done, it might be good for her to have it done before the big day and see just how pretty she will look. Although it might not hurt to bribe them with something small if they are good to make sure that they sit still and behave etc lol.

As far as how long before the big day goes my wedding planning book advises that it should be about a month before to allow you a little bit of time to make tweaks and allow any colour or cut to settle so it doesn't look too new on the day.

amiejones  ive got a hairdesser coming to the house shel only charge a tenner for my eldest and my youngest free so might aswell have them done!!! i was determind to have the girls hair curled with a hair band they both have long hair the 6 yr old have the most stunning colour red but when ive tried to curl it it wont hold lol she loves the idea of being pampered !!!! its gonna be a very busy morning!!! the 2 girls and my 1 year old son : / haha be worth it when its all done!!

jen150912  @amiejones I'm not paying a hairdresser, one of my BMs will do my hair, and we'll do each other's on the day. Means we can have loads of practices when it suits us, and will only cost us the wine we'll be having while we play about lol!! I'm growing my hair but also having clip in extentions for extra thickness as I want my hair half up/half down. I don't know yet about the flowergirls - one will be just over a year old (She's 6wks just now!) the others 8 and 5(ish). The 8yr old has gorgeous long dark hair, and I really don't mind what is done with it, as long as she still looks like and 8yr old. Will find out nearer the time I suppose, they still haven't actually been asked yet if they'll be flowergirls...!! x

mrsmander2b  @amiejones I am having my trial in feb and get married in may, I am a hairdresser so im doing my bridesmaids but having my friend also a hairdresser is going to do mine as i didnt want the hassle along with bridesmaid x2 and MoB. One bridesmaid will be 7 she loves me messing with her hair she will be having a side messy bun with diamantes dotted, My flower girl will be three she will be having a french plait starting from the top then trailing in an "s" shape with flowers in it. (My son 3 used to hate the hairdresser's until i did work experience in a salon that had a kids coner table chair mirror same as you would expect but kids size with different toys available for them to play with.) x

hazzy1978  I've got my hair trial on Friday :D It will just be me and my MoH, as I'm not really doing anything with my FG's hair, except maybe get a cut so they are neat and tidy. So excited, wedding one month tomorrow!!!

amiejones  think il get my best friend to have a play around with there hair last thing i want is a style thats too old for them!!! and something that will last so they only need to sit and behave once lol!!!

midz  I having hair trial on the 20th this month which will be 8 weeks before the wedding - I would have waited till about a 6weeks/month before but I'm having my hair streaked and it seem pointless making different appointments with the same hairdresser. Will have another go about a week before the wedding when I go get my hair re-coloured for the big day

essex_bride  I had my hair trial 3 weeks before the big day, it allowed me to get my hair coloured, styled and to the length that I wanted it and then I just had another re colour touch up a week before the wedding day xx
