most Cof E weddings have 1 or 2 hymns if you got to the church of england website http://www.yourchurchwedding.org/ they have popular hymns on it. They also have a link so you can put in the hymns readings etc and will give you a template for the wedding to take with you when you go to the vicar.
I am having 2 hymns I have not decided yet but am going to arrange a time with the organist to go though some hymns to pick them, I think I am having make me a channel of your peace. I am also having 2 readings one from the bible not decided that and a french poem about love which my H2B is picking.
Also talk to your H2B and family and see what they think, you do not have to choose the hymns till nearer the date.
Hope this helps

loz2879@missmaxine our service has 3 hyms, ic antt have morning have broken or all things bright and beautiful as reminds my family of recent family members funeral.
So we have picked 3 joy ful songs!! we havinga gospel choir so should be good hopefully!!
*I am the Lord of the Dance
*Give me Joy in my heart
*one more step along the world i go.
these are not definets but i have never heard any of these at funerals so thats why i like them!!! we are also having a non-religious reading of a poem about love and life growing old together! my 2 older bridesmaids are going to read it!!
having quite a tradition service but with a gospel choir so hopefully people will enjoy it rather than being bored!lol
but if you really love morning has broken then i would have it as its your favourite and maybe its a nice way to remember the others by? x

We're having 2 hymns at our wedding 'Bind us together Lord' and 'One more step along the world I go' I asked my mum and gran for ideas then went on You Tube to listen to them really like the words in these two. We're also having a poem read by a close friend about love and friendship which is really appropriate for me and h2b as we were friends before we 'got together'. Hope this helps xx

mrshstobe your love is amazing
the power of your love
amazing Grace
give me joy in my heart
jezibella83 I chose hymns that I used to love singing at Primary School in assembly;
Lord of the Dance,
Shine on Me,
One More Step Along The World I Go.

jen150912 @innessarah05 I've got this problem too - I used to be a regular church-goer, but fell by the wayside in my late teen years so I'm not sure what is/isn't appropriate for a wedding. My friend is playing the organ for me, she's still a regular at the same church, so she gave me a few to try - one being Shine on Me - it's one of my favourites! and others that I can't remember but I'll get the info and let you know later, even for a few more suggestions. I'm only having 2, so it will be a quick decision lol! x

mrsctobe @innessarah05 A good way to do it is think of what people will know, i.e.
All things bright and beautiful
Morning has broken
Amazing Grace
That way they are more likely to join in with the singing. To a certain extent we are lucky as about half of our guests go to Mass so will be familiar with our hymns. We've also got a load of regular church goers coming along to join in the singing and watch us make our vows. H2b is a non-practising catholic whereas I go to church every week, but his favourite as a child was always Shine Jesus Shine and we use this regularly for celebration Masses, it's lovely, lively and great fun. Good luck chick xx

boycee@mrskent2b was also wondering what hymns you're having and why:
mrskent2b Recently met with vicar and have been given a few weeks to get back to him with our choice of hymns. Problem is we have no idea!!! Wondered what you lovely ladies are having and if there was any particular reason for your choices.
Thank you x x x

mrsthompsontobe @mrskent2b we're having 'Give me oil in my lamp' because I used to sing it at school and it's an upbeat song that we both know and we're having 'One more step', again it's an old school song, upbeat and about moving on to the next step. I didn't want old fashioned boring hymns that noone would want to sing, and definitely didn't want 'All things bright and beautiful'.... everyone has that!! Hope you find some you like hun xxx
