My Ladies, I need some advice. I know this is up to me and H2B but he just says its up to me and he dont mind as long as he gets to marry me!!

Basically we are thinking of going to Florida to get married. It will work out aprox £15,000 which is paying for us both, both set of parents, my 3 siblings, my sisters bf, my mamma and my cousin. This includes flights, hotel and park tickets so all they would have to pay for is their spending money and food as its self catering... Which is a brilliant price in my opinion!!

Im not bothered at all about any of my family missing out, after the grieve most of them as put me through already i couldnt care less!!
I was a bit upset about H2Bs family missing out as theyve done nothing wrong. But H2B said they would understand that this is our dream wedding.

The thing that is swaying my mind is that i wont get a full wedding. There will be no reception. Just the ceremony, pictures, cake and wedding breakfast. Which im fine with but the thing is i think £2000 is a lot to spend on a dress and tiara to just spend a few hours in. But i LOVE that dress and wont have any other!

Would this put you off? Im struggling to make a decision emoticon

you could always have a full wedding here so you can wear your dress all day and then have a blessing on your honeymoon you could even wear your dress again.x though if it was me I'd dump the florida idea and have it as a honeymoon instead. but thats just me! xxxx emoticon

What a fab idea! I'm loving the idea of whisking yourselves off for the big day. I can see where you're coming from about the dress, but what's to stop you from carrying on in the evening? There are lots of options but maybe you could ask the hotel if you could arrange something for the evening? Or maybe you and your new hubby could arrange to carry on by the lot of you having a private party somewhere else? You could even do something on your own. What's to stop you from carrying on wearing your dress into the evening? If you really want to wear it then hiring out a small room at the hotel and putting on some music with the lights down low will obviously cost you a bit more money but if you feel that strongly about it is it worth paying? There must be more options, ask around and see what you come up with. Good luck!

@nessarourke £15000 is a bargain! You can always have a reception over here afterwards - which means you get to wear the dress again! xx

You could have your wedding over there and have a party when you come back, all your family and friends can then attend and you can wear our dress again! x

@kristinanikita If we was getting married in the UK we would have been going to florida anyway for our honeymoon. Weve been before and we loved it! Just loved the idea of taking my parents and siblings out with us!!

@fabulousfebruary @accidentallyme @klt02 I think your right girls, i have suggested a party but H2B isnt keen. Think hes gonna ring a wedding co ordinator out there and see if there would be any chance of booking something for us in the evening, otherwise i will have to twist H2Bs arm about the party emoticon

@nessarourke i am not having a full wedding either ; this includes not having a dress; i would do the florida option and see on ebay if you could find a nice beach wedding dress for a few hundred £'s... or when your out in us see one of their bridal shops and buy of the peg.

my h2b s brother got married in florida i was a bridesmaid! although florida is fabulous i found the experience disapointing as there was no reception and she wore her dress for around 2hrs then back to the hotel. they had a reception when they came home with a buffet at night but thats also an extra cost on top of the 15k. its totally up to you but i think ud be better getting married at home have all the ppl you want there and go on honeymoon to florida.

Hmmm thats a tough one and only because you're paying for your family to go with you! I think it comes down to whats the most important thing to you! For us it was a few things:
* cant justify spending £20k on a day at home with people we hardly ever see but HAVE to invite
* cant be bothered with table seating plans (IE dont sit those 2 together as they dont get on, or where do I sit my dad's partner as Mum died 4 years ago. Does she sit in her place, etc... too emotional)
* H2B needs constant entertainment on holiday whereas I like to relax. Getting married abroad means he has people to do things with.

We're going away and having our immediate family (parents, siblings and H2B's nan) however we're not paying for them. We're having ceremony, photographer (although no photos inc in package!! We'll be taking our own instead as its more personal), cake, and doing our own reception in a restaurant on the ship. We're then having a party when home to celebrate with everyone. We've budgeted £8-10,000 which includes everything above, dress, suites, flowers, the cruise/honeymoon for 12 nts in Caribbean, the party, meal for those at the reception, champagne, and spending money too.

Weddings in the UK are always days to remember. But for us we get a full month of celebrating our wedding and you get to wear the dress twice, so it really only costs you £1000 (each time you wear it haha).

Good lucxk deciding x x x

Just to give you an idea. I'm getting married here and having a party. Them 2 days later flying to Florida and getting blessed on a beach in the gulf. It's stunning. Have a look on google images. It only costs £700 for the blessing on the beach. I can't wait. 2 weddings. So wear your dress twice and get dolled up twice. Fab. Xxx
