Weddings in May 2012

mrsjeffrey2be  Hey hun, i put on my status thing yestersay only 9 more pay days how strange lol! Im may 26th 2012 . I have booked My church and reception sent save the dates , bought my dress and bridesmaid dresses ,,,, i have pretty much bought everything i need to buy. The only thing we need to buy is hubbys suit and paige boys. I am like superduper organised so do not get worried! infact im like freakish organised. I have made alot of things yself thats why i am organised..... but if you are having a weddingw here your venue is providing for you then you dont have much more to worry about... Have you done your table plan???? Not long now and i way too excited!!! If u look on my albums you can see what i have made or bought and see if you have missed anything??? Do not worry every body does thingsin their own time and when they are ready!

jen_kristin  I've got the venue and registrar like you and sent the save the dates card and have my dress like you.
The only other things i've done are;

1.Booked the photographer
2. Enquired with a pianist (but not booked yet)
3. Arranged a day to look at bridesmaid dresses and booked the appointments with the shops. (16th august)
4. Bought my tiara
5. Decided on a invitation style (but they are not made yet)

I'm started to get itchy fingers or feet or whatever the saying is, as well. I wanted to be super organised so that i am not rushing but think the benefit is that our date is on a Thursday so we dont have to book things 2 years in advance like if it was on a Saturday.
I probably recommend looking into the florist and the photographer as they are biggies.

I do feel the same as you so I'm going to give myself and my mum a kick up the bum this weekend and plan an actual list with dates when i want things sorted by. Then i'm not panicing. Also in the wedding magazines they often give you wedding schedules and they seem to me to leave everything quite late on. Check one of the magaizines and perhaps set a plan to that, or panic and ignore it like i do haha!

missengaged  Hi hun, I'm not getting wed until July next year! I would recommend booking your photographer/ videographer and cars (if you are having those things) as they do get booked up pretty quick in advance!x

mrsmander2b  I am getting married 12th May, i have most things sorted now just playing the waiting game x

munchkin79  @ lozi , I've booked and paid deposits on Ceremony venue, reception venue, cars, dj, photographer and ice-cream carts. Save the dates have been emailed. Have bought Veil and Shoes (waiting to lose some weight before getting the dress lol) and bought bridesmaid dresses and men's ties. I've got the Favours vessels and started collecting jars and such for the candy table.
Actually, now I've written it all down, feel like I've done a lot!
I also have nearly everything else organised in my head but waiting for the cash to do it!
Really I agree with @missengaged any services that you want to book ie entertainment, cars etc then I would get cracking as they do get booked up!

joski28  @lozi definately book your car like missengaged says. I've really struggled to find the car I like and I'm get married 2nd June next year. Had to go with a different car now. x

...don't worry about what you have or haven't done. You have 9 months to go! You could cook up a baby in that time!! xx

loves_to_dance  I'm getting married on 5th May 2012 and have so far sorted:

caterers and picked the menu (though not tasted yet)
band

my dress
bridesmaid dresses
found flower girl dresses but not bought yet
sent Save the Dates
men's suits
started designing our wedding website and invitations

Feeling quite organised but think the next thing I will need to sort is flowers.

mrslightfoot  I'm getting married on 30th june 2012 (so i have a little longer), we've got :

the church booked (they dont wanna talk to us until january)
reception venue (secured with about a third of our guesstimated cost)
photographer (h2b's stepdad, so free)
videographer (h2b's stepdad's mate, again free)
2 out of 3 bridesmaids dresses
my dress (100% paid for, they dont wanna talk to me til april now)
rough idea where we're going for our horse and carriage
know where we're going for flowers
know where we're going for suits (and roughly which ones, his brothers in america atm tho)
MoG present 50% sorted
my shoes (i'm so bad at wearing heels so i've got loadsa time to try em out)
know where third bridesmaid dress is hopefully (just need to get her to actually come shopping with me)
know which cake and which shop (mum knows the lady so waiting til she's well enough to come order with me)
know where we're getting the favours from
found wedding invites (need approval off mum tho for my piece of mind)
hairdresser

tho I'll be the first to admit i'm stupidly organised over this we've known what we've wanted since before we were even engaged. its just the minor things holding us back for now, i'm sure i wont be feeling so confident in 10 months time tho

I have sorted my dress (well sort of I may be changing my mind?!?!?), reception venue, bar, band, church, decorations for reception,photographer, caterer (if he gets back to me), guest accomodation,ceremony musicians, save the dates done and mostly sent out.

I still need to organise flowers, cake ( i am doing this myself), cupcakes for table decorations, bridesmaids dresses (I've seen them just need to order them after christmas), order rings (chosen but need ordering), DJ, book transport (i want a bus but all a bit expensive so still shopping around), suits for men, hotel for wedding night, sort hair/makeup, honeymoon, thankyou gifts, order prosecco for the toast, ooh and invitations

I thought I was really organised but now I am not so sure!

mrskent2b  Hi lovely.

Im getting married May 19th and i have booked church, evening venue and disco. I have sent half of my save the dates. Thats it! My mums panicing i should be more organised and in a way i would love it to be sorted but its difficult trying to do it all on my own whilst running a business, looking after the house and two children! Think i'll get back into it more once school starts again in sept! x x x

cpk  Hey Getting married on 18th May. So far have booked church and venue for after. Have ordered my dress and have bought my bridesmaid dresses (half price in debenhams sale! so happy with them!). I've also booked my photographer! Its great to see what everyone else has done! I keep wavering between thinking there is load of time and then realising how fast the last 6 months have gone! Happy planning girls

oh blimey u've all done so much! haha i best get planning! luckily we're having civil ceremony so don't need wedding car etc. i think the next things we need to sort are photographer and bridesmaids dresses (all 5 of them!!) xx

brideofcharlie  @lozi loving this thread I'm getting married on 11th May 2012 and have suddenly made the transition from feeling like there is an endless amount of time left until the wedding and that most things are too early to buy, to suddenly realising that before we know it it will be Christmas then May will quickly be upon us and all the stuff I have left to organise/pay for by then! Arghh!! lol ahh the fact that you've pointed out that it's only nine more pay days makes it seem even more scary! lol as lately every thing else financially is getting in the way lol here's what we've bought/organised so far:

Ribbon/candles and some bits and pieces (but with loads more to go!)
