When is the best month to get married?

rach10_09_10  Well I'm getting married in September - I always think the weather is a bit better than in August and you never know with July, besides it's after the school holidays so your honeymoon won't be as expensive!

mrsk2b  My wedding's in July Right at the end so who knows about the weather! .. I wanted a summer wedding so that people could use some of their holiday around our special day if they wanted to, and it would be ok for kids to be out of school too!

starrieeyed  Well I've gone for August .. lots of my friends are teachers so it fits in with them and also suits our friends with families too! I didn't go for Bank Holiday weekend - seen another interesting discussion already about that one!

kerry28_08_10  Im the one who's gone for an August Bank Holiday wedding - it was the best weekend for us .. let's our guests have a long weekend so they can recover from our wedding and they can take it easy getting to and from our wedding without having to take an extra day off work! With regards to the wedding, well most of us are getting married in the UK, right? Who knows what the weather will be like!!

lf1975  We're getting married in Sept - it has always been my favourite month and we seem to get good weather in Sept....... fingers crossed! The hotel where we are getting married also do a cheaper package in Sept which suited us too!

mel18  i'm also getting married in sept it seems the right month 4 us as we always got 2 much goin off in aug , we got a great deal 4 our wedding as the venue have an offer which fits in great with the rest of plans,

duffy86s  im getting married in september but 2011, so early planning stage. but yes im hoping the sun lasts that little bit longer, just for the photos then i dont mind if it rains.

romance  I think September is perfect, I couldn't convince my other half to wait that long so we booked 25th June... I'm concerned nobody else seems to rate June weddings...? lol... I hope that isn't a bad sign!

give_me_strength  Well I've chosen May, which no one else seems to lol! The choice was all down to having it as close as possible to our current anniversary! Plus hopefully the weather will be ok!

debz  we are getting married 2nd june 2012, it depends what kind of wedding and theme you want really you cannot always get the colours of flowers and things at certain times of the year, it's all up too what you two think is best and both agree with x

kittenj  I am always too busy in the summer to have planned a summer wedding
I chose the last weekend in November this year, i'm hoping for snow
Our guests are coming from around the country so it will be an early Christmas dinner on a grand scale.
we got the reception for a quarter of the price too cos it's out of season.

Me and the OH are getting married next Aug. We have also opted for a weekday wedding (Friday) as its cheaper then the weekend - especially useful for keeping down costs.
Weather wasnt a major consideration for us because realistically we live in the UK so anything could happen .
I have seen winter weddings which are beautiful so time of year is all down to convenience and personal preference

Midweek too because it saves us almost £4000 and its in the school holidays so my Mum can come
We have a lot of people to keep happy lol. Plus June isn't too warm (My partner hates heat)
The Gardens at our venue are beautiful in mid-june too, so Great photos!

I'm thinking about 9.10.11 because its a cool date but its a Sunday, bit of a pain if you're back at work on Monday..... AND does Sunday mean the bar will shut early? If thats the case, its a bit rubbish because I'm thinking of having a late afternoon wedding.... don't want it to be all over too quickly!!!

mrscoe2b  I would go for that date shellyriannon sound fun and something people will remember.i think you would have to speak to whichever venue you go for. hotels are more likely to stay open spesh if you have guests staying over.a historic building will have more restriction i woul imagine.We chose a winter wedding as you can never be sure of the great british weather so i am well prepared with sparkly wellies n purple brollies!!!plus i get to wear a lovely furry shrug n have gorge sunset pics at 3pm just in time for the wedding breakfast,and my fire performance will look spectacular at 7pm when in summer it would still be light.xx

shellyriannon  Sounds amazing! I like the idea of a furry shrug! My friends had a Christmas wedding - her dress had no train, instead she wore a long coat over the dress that went into a train, it was lovely because then when she was inside she took the coat off and was able to move around without the train dragging behind her, and show off the detail of the dress!

mrs2b  we are getting married in may 2011, look at the weather this year it has been fantastic in may so hopefully it will be next year!

annie_t  we have chose 9th july 2011 - day after i sons 5th b'day (sadly not with us) its to mark his b'day and remember him in a special way.

i think people chose a date that means something to them more than anything or thats not a month of birthdays etc x
